Is this the current version that should be used for Phase 1?

It looks like there are some fields common to all types, including:

    title, Title, shorttext, 1 (required)
    author, Author(s), shorttext, 0-*

Is this true? Are there others that should be included for all types? Copyright, maybe? Publication date/year?

Both book and journal article have a field named "pages", but they are not really the same. For book, the field represents the total number of pages in the book. For journal article, it represents the page range within the volume or issue in which the article appears. Could we given them different names, even if the label is the same?

Also, could you specify which field(s) should be used to identify the "source" for each type? For example, for book, it might be:

    copyright. [city,] publisher.

For journal article, it might be:

    journal [volume[:issue]] [date ]

Could you specify those as much as possible?

I've updated the attached [Citation Schema Spreadsheet| ^CitationFields2.xls]. It has information for mapping parts for different citation types (book, book chapter, journal article, report) as well as some added parts.

Displaying the "source" is a discussion we should have soon.
