The judges and the committee were impressed by the variety and quality of the submissions which demonstrate the use of Sakai across disciplines and at all levels of the educational spectrum. It is exciting to see the innovative ways in which Sakai is being used by instructors and institutions all over the world.
The award coincides with the debut of the Opened Practices site which is a space for sharing ideas on using Sakai. Our hope is to draw faculty into active participation in the Sakai community. The award entries contributed greatly toward meeting these goals, but they are just a start. We invite all faculty using Sakai to get involved by sharing materials, ideas and innovations.
